Privacy
This site is a reference of public data. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and nothing to buy, so there is very little about you for it to hold. This page says what there is.
What is collected
Page analytics, through PostHog, whose servers are in the United States. For each visit it records the page viewed, when you arrived and when you left, the referring page, and the coarse device and browser information any web request carries. That is used for one thing: knowing which pages are read, so the next ones are built where readers already are.
Analytics does not load at all until the browser has finished rendering the page, so it costs a reader nothing. On any deployment where the analytics key is not configured — local development, previews, continuous integration — no third-party script loads at all.
What is not collected
- No session recording. Your scrolling, typing and mouse movement are not captured. It is switched off in the configuration, not merely unused.
- No profile of you. PostHog is configured to build a person profile only for an identified user, and this site identifies nobody, because there is nobody to identify.
- No advertising and no advertising trackers. The site carries no ads and no ad network script.
- Nothing is sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing. Not now, and it is not a business model this site has.
Errors
When a page fails, the error and the address that produced it are sent to Sentry so it can be fixed. That happens on the server. No error-reporting code runs in your browser.
The data on the pages is not about you
Everything published here comes from records federal and state agencies already release — spending, crime, immigration courts, nonprofit filings, health payments. Where a page names a person, it is because a publishing agency named them in a public record, and the page reports that record, attributes it, and links the source. It makes no claim beyond what the record states. The methodology explains how each figure is produced and the data page lists every source and its licence.
If a record about you is wrong, the correction belongs with the agency that published it, because this site reproduces rather than originates it. Tell us anyway and we will note it: an error we know about is recorded in the corrections log whether or not we can fix it at the source.
