What this data cannot show
- The fiscal year is not over. These are obligations recorded so far, and a figure here is not comparable with a full year.
- An obligation is a binding commitment to pay, not money paid. Outlays are reported separately and the two are never equal in the same year.
- The share is not a completion rate and is not capped at 100%. An agency pays in one year what it committed in another, so the two figures describe different money that happens to fall in the same twelve months.
- These come from the account data each agency submits, which begins at FY2017. They are a different collection from the award records the rest of this hub is built on and do not reconcile to them.
- An agency that submitted no account data for the year is absent from this table rather than shown as having paid out nothing.
